Iron Man 2 (Trailer)
This is probably going to be my last post for this week, since Wednesday is the day I normally “take off”, and Thursday is the start of the Christmas season, but before I go, how about a trailer? How about the trailer for the much-anticipated Iron Man 2, in fact, coming out in May? Enjoy.
The following trailer contains some violence.
Uh, What??: The Windows 7 "House Party" video
I like almost everything that Microsoft does; I even liked Windows Vista. But there was a key word in that sentence: almost. This is that almost. To promote their now-available new OS, Windows 7, Microsoft posted a video to YouTube about hosting the perfect Windows 7 house party.

Here are the things that make this video so goofy.
- The lady in purple. She won’t stop talking. It seems that she’s trying to let everyone know that Windows 7 is here and gosh-darn-it, we’re having a party!
- That little bit at 3:11. “So, for the rest of the party, you can just leave your computer on…and then you just let folks mess around with it, right?” Yeah, I’m not bringing my computer to that party.
The two guys just seem to be there to drive the point home about everything the lady in purple is talking about, but a gem comes from the man in green. “Can you believe that Microsoft put the launch of Windows 7 in our hands? Are they nuts or what?” Ha ha, yeah.
Top 5: High-tech public arts
I know some people who like artwork, and some people who like technology. What if you combined art and tech? You’d probably get these.

Find the perfect holiday recipe: AllRecipes.com & CampbellsKitchen.com
- AllRecipes.com: This website is like an online cookbook. Each day they have a featured recipe (today’s is “Honey-Nut Raisin Chex Mix”). There are links to Christmas and Hanukkah recipes, and you can also search for more recipes even by ingredient. The site has a neat “Top Searches” pane on their front page that tells you what others have been searching for. (They’re getting into the holiday spirit: today’s searches were “sugar cookies”, “christmas cookies”, and the like.) http://www.allrecipes.com/
- CampbellsKitchen.com: Another recipe site, this one has a “recipe navigator” that lets you search for recipes by mood or need. They also have coupons for your favorite ingredients. http://www.campbellskitchen.com/
Blurb
I read about this website on Mashable.com.
Photo books can be great gifts for the holidays, and Blurb can help you make one. They offer a free book-making program that you can download and use. You can add photos, artwork, and text to personalize your book. Then when you’re done, you can have it published from about $5. You can also preview and buy other people’s books on the website.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (Trailer)
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, starring Nicolas Cage, is about a college kid who is plucked from his ordinary world by a sorcerer and must decide whether or not he becomes his apprentice. It’s inspired by (as I like to say) a Disney cartoon from their film Fantasia and it actually looks pretty good. But why does Cage have to look so weird? The movie comes out on May 16th.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Trailer)
Here’s a trailer for the action adventure Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It’s based on a video game and comes out in May.
Mashable
If you like technology, Mashable can’t be beat. The site features tech news from different people. Their stories cover business, viral videos, and a wide variety of different topics. If you’re an avid Twitterer, they have lists of people to follow, like comedians and authors. Their “Spark of Genius” series spotlights interesting Internet startups. While their pages do take a while to load, Mashable has something for everyone. One question: How did the name come about?
Ratatouille: "Your Friend the Rat"
This is a short film that comes with the DVD of the Pixar movie Ratatouille. At 11 minutes long, it’s Pixar’s longest short, in which Remy and Emile (the two rats from the film) teach us about the history of rats and try to tell us to make peace with their kind.

Babies (Trailer)
Here’s a trailer for the documentary Babies, which explores one year of four different babies in four different places around the world.
