Avatar (Teaser Trailer)
Let’s end the week with a sci-fi film this week, shall we? Here’s a new movie from the director of “Titanic”, James Cameron, but this time, the action doesn’t take place on a boat. Most of it doesn’t even take place on Earth. The movie is Avatar, and, according to Wikipedia, is the fourth most expensive movie ever. Apparently it’s about a soldier who is injured and has the option of going to the planet Pandora, where he will be able to walk again. But that’s not the only change goin’ on down in Pandora. Noooooo. The solider is transformed into a blue…elfish….thing, almost like a fairy but not very small. This, I also learned on Wikipedia, is because humans cannot breathe the air on Pandora. (I know what you’re saying. “C’mon! Just give us the trailer already!”) And I will. The movie comes out on December 18th and is not yet rated. Enjoy the trailer.
Capitalism: A Love Story (Trailer)
Here’s the trailer for Michael Moore’s new film Capitalism: A Love Story, which takes a comical look at the recent bailout. Moore is describing it as “the perfect date movie”:
“It’s got it all— lust, passion, romance and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day. It’s a forbidden love, one that dare not speak its name. Heck, let’s just say it: It’s capitalism.”
The movie comes out on October 2nd, 2009.
Inception (Teaser Trailer)
GONGGG.
GONGGG.
GONGGG.
GONGGG.
That’s about all you’ll hear in the teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception, which is described as “a contemporary science fiction tale set in the architecture of the human mind”, is not yet rated, comes out next summer, and looks pretty interesting.
Did You Hear About the Morgans? (Teaser Trailer)
Here’s a teaser trailer for Sony’s new comedy Did You Hear About the Morgans?, starring Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker. The movie tells the story of Paul and Meryl Morgan (Grant and Jessica Parker), an unhappily married couple who witness a murder and are forced to enter the witness protection program, where they are relocated to Wyoming. The movie comes out in December.

One thing that irks me: Some recent movie trailers have a voice-over guy in them, but he only says one title card in the whole trailer, the one with the name of the movie on it. If he only says one, then he should say all the title cards, or none at all.

Snopes.com
Sometimes you get so many “chain emails” that you don’t know what to do with them. I actually have a tag for all my chain mail. There are always those emails, though, that are so zany and wacky you don’t know if they’re true or not. That’s where Snopes.com comes in. The webmasters have devoted their entire lives (it seems) to debunking email Internet legends, verifying each and every one of them. So the next time someone tells you that you can pop popcorn with your cell phone…
