Microsoft Security Essentials: It’s free.

And nothing can beat free. (Well, maybe some things.) Microsoft rolled out its latest free security suite called Microsoft Security Essentials, and it’s basically just your standard antivirus app. But why does it seem that this is Microsoft’s first antimalware app? Anyway, I’ve heard that the application is really simple, and makes it really easy to start a scan. Although, some for-pay antivirus companies don’t really like the idea of a Microsoft free security app. According to CNET TV’s The Buzz Report, a general manager for Trend Micro said that “you get what you pay for”. Luckily, the host fought back. “You guys, you can do all the high-school sniping that you want, but Security Essentials is free. And it’s from Microsoft. And people are gonna use it.” You go, Microsoft!
